The first thing I learned in Seattle is something I’ve actually known for awhile: the best apartments are NOT found online, but by walking around. That’s how I found my awesome place, just 1/3 mile from work! My before/afters:

Due to career and lifestyle factors (which are equally complicated and boring) I’ve decided to move to New York! Stay tuned for how I plan to get the contents of my Seattle apartment to my new NYC apartment. Oh! And here’s the awesome view of the East River from my bedroom window:
