Eleven days in Austin flew past. Here are the snippets and highlights.
Not a whole lot to say lately, but here’s a little bit.
I love visiting Evelyn because she goes out and gets BREAKFAST TACOS from Wheatsville Co-op. After breakfast we finally occupied (well, a-third-occupied) unit #2081 with everything I own. Then came back home to this sight:
I finally make it back to Evelyn’s…not the most sober person ever. And guess who’s in town and wants to come by…parents! Chelsea took a photo to commemorate. Shortly after, she did her own photo piece expressing her thoughts on my action-packed day. Meanwhile, here’s Evelyn wearing the top we got her at Marshalls, on …
I met Michael 7 years ago when I interviewed at McGarrah Jessee here in Austin. By this time of day I was not all that photogenic anymore. Clearly that wasn’t contagious. (Of course shades help…) And something very important was going on with people’s hands. I can’t quite recall, but it was unforgettable.
I know Corey from my Detroit job exactly 8 years ago. Just saw him for the first time since! He had to take a few work calls, but it was worth it for a FOUR HOUR LUNCH! (Or was it 5-hour…)
Who knew the college kids would snatch up all the daggone storage units for the summer! Got a 4’x10′ until a 5’x5′ comes available. Here’s Evelyn with Andrea, our professional storage consultant.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of our trip to Germany, Sara and I had lunch today at Kerbey Lane. I would have gotten a pic of our Kerbey Queso and Kerbey Chicken, but my camera’s shutter speed isn’t that fast.
Exactly like my one-way rental from Columbus, only red.
Being Evelyn’s substitute for Taco Day turned out to be delicious!
My paring-down process really started a year ago. After more consignment, craigslist, ebay and giving more stuff away than I would have EVER thought necessary, all my belongings have finally been whittled down to: And packed with near-jigsaw puzzle precision into my one-way rental: Now off to Austin (by way of Nashville, then Dallas.)
The plan in 7 easy steps: 1. Leave Columbus. Everything I own in the rental car. 2. Stop near Nashville to see Dave Ramsey. 3. Spend the night at Highland Place B&B in Jackson, TN. 4. Drive to Dallas to see my dear friend, Robin. 5. Drive to Austin. Put stuff in storage. Visit my …
