Even though I am still looking for a very-specific kind of job (Skype interview in the morning) it’s feeling like a good time to do some backpacking-type-travel. (Watching this documentary didn’t help.) So with 100+ days until I fly to Austin, I’m finding myself in the very early stages of planning a weeks-long SE Asia backpacking trip. Pictured in blue, S.E. Asia is just 60% the land area of the Continental US.
Is there a SE Asia version of the Appalachian trail? That would be awesome.
I don’t love the idea of spending too much time outdoors here in Singapore. (Too dern hot & humid!) However, following the “Silk Road” would get you plenty passport stamps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silk_Road
